Getting Started

Pika uses Sign in with Apple — there's no separate account creation step. On the welcome screen, tap Sign in with Apple, authenticate with Face ID or your Apple ID password, and you're in. No email address, no password to set up.

Yes — completely free to use. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads. We don't sell your data either.

Tap Search at the bottom of the screen and type the name of the show. Tap the result to open the podcast page, then tap Subscribe. The show will appear in your Library and new episodes will surface automatically.

You can also browse by genre on the Explore tab.

Playback

Use the +15 and −15 buttons on the player screen to skip forward or rewind by 15 seconds. You can also drag the progress bar to any position in the episode.

Yes. Pika uses iOS background audio, so playback continues when you switch apps or lock your screen. You can control it from the Lock Screen or Control Center as usual.

Yes. Your playback position is saved automatically for every episode — even if you close the app, switch to another show, or come back days later. Your position also syncs to the cloud, so it carries across devices.

Stuttering usually means the audio is streaming faster than your connection allows. Try these steps:

1. Check your Wi-Fi or cellular signal.
2. Download the episode first (tap the download icon) and play it offline.
3. Force-quit Pika and reopen it.
4. If the issue persists on a specific show, the podcast's feed may have a problem — try a different episode.

Queue & Library

Next Up is your personal queue — a list of episodes you've flagged to listen to soon. Tap the Next Up button on any episode to add it. Episodes play in order after your current one finishes. Your queue syncs to the cloud so it's always available.

Tap the download icon on any episode. Downloads happen over Wi-Fi by default. To allow cellular downloads, go to Settings → Downloads → Allow Cellular Downloads. Downloaded episodes are available in your Library even without a connection.

On the episode, tap the download icon again (it will appear filled to indicate the file is saved) and confirm deletion. The episode remains in your library — only the local file is removed.

Account & Sync

First, make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID on both devices. Then try pulling down on the Library screen to manually trigger a sync. If the issue continues, sign out and sign back in via Settings → Account → Sign Out.

If the problem persists, email us and we'll look into it.

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm. This permanently deletes your account, subscriptions, queue, listening history, and all personal data from our servers. The deletion is immediate on live systems; backups are purged within 60 days.

If you'd prefer we handle the deletion for you, email contact@thepika.app from the address associated with your account.

Go to Settings → Profile. Tap your display name or handle to edit them inline. Changes sync to the cloud immediately.
